Brandy Station Battlefield Bridle Trails - Approx. 5 miles of fields and woods. An easy and scenic ride. Located next to the Culpeper airport. There is hunting at this site so you may want to only ride on Sundays during hunting season.

C.F. Phelps Wildlife Management Area, Summerduck ~ website - 4,539 acres with a mixture of fields and woods. The ride here is easy and contains several nice open fields to enjoy. A word of caution they do hold dog trials and hunting is allowed. For a map of the area click here.

Lake Anna State Park, Spotsylvania ~ website - More than 10 miles of wooded trails with mostly natural footing with some gravel.
There is a small fee to enter the park but well worth the drive with a nice parking area and picnic tables. The trails range from easy to moderate in difficulty. One item to note is these are multi-use trails so you may encounter hikers as well as bike riders. Coggins papers are required. For a map of the park click here.
